Meet Alyssa!
Alyssa Bischel is a 2023 graduate of Point Park University, where she earned her B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography with a concentration in Jazz and a minor in Musical Theater. A native of Buffalo, New York, Alyssa cultivated her passion for dance and musical theater from an early age.
Most recently, Alyssa joined the founding cast of Archers Stage in New York City, performing original choreography by Rodo Santamarina under the direction of Claudio Medina. Her professional credits also include performing at a New York Jets game at MetLife Stadium, appearing at the Repetto opening in NYC in collaboration with Dance Workshop, and dancing in numerous theatrical productions. Her stage roles include “June” (Squish) in O’Connell’s and Company’s Chicago; “Mother Goose” at the 92nd Street Y; contortionist roles in RWS’s The Conjuring and Haunting Under the Stars; and Two Lost Souls, reconstructed by Lloyd Culbreath of the Verdon Fosse Legacy. She also appeared as a raccoon/ensemble member in Point Park’s production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella at the Pittsburgh Playhouse.
Alyssa’s commercial work includes serving as the campaign model for Sheetz food and beverage and appearing in Tracey Anderson’s Hulu documentary. She has also studied at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, further broadening her training in acting and performance.
Alyssa has had the privilege of being trained, mentored, or performed pieces under the direction of numerous distinguished artists throughout her career, including Blake McGrath, Shannon Mather, Kiesha Lalama, Stacey Tookey, Rocker Verastique, Daniel Herman, Lloyd Culbreath, Jill Randolph-Lazzini, Kiki Lucas, Susan Stowe, Jae Man Joo, William and Susannah Gentes, Jason McDole, Amy Hall Garner, Angel Arms, Derek Piquette, Julie LaMancuso, and Christina Kotsopoulos.
Alyssa is a versatile artist with strengths in dance, voice, and acting. Her additional skills include acrobatics, contortion, improvisation, choreography, partnering and lifts, modeling, and fitness. She aims to bring joy and emotional resonance to audiences through her dynamic movement quality, using her body as an instrument for storytelling and expression.
